'Always prepared, ever vigilant': Indian Armed Forces share strong message amid tensions with Pakistan

Send Push
In the wake of a deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, India’s armed forces have issued a defiant message to Pakistan. On Saturday, both the Indian Army and Navy shared cryptic posts reaffirming their operational readiness, amid rising border tensions and cross-border firing incidents.

A clear message of readiness
The Indian Army, on the microblogging platform X, posted, "Always Prepared, Ever Vigilant - #IndianArmy." This statement was part of a broader display of strength and resolve, signalling that the armed forces are fully ready to respond to any escalation. Meanwhile, the Indian Navy shared a similarly bold message: “Power in unity; Presence with Purpose.” It underscored the military’s collective defense spirit and commitment to operational readiness. These posts, while brief, reflect the military's unyielding vigilance as tensions with Pakistan continue to grow.

The Pahalgam attack: A deadly trigger
The situation comes after the tragic terrorist attack in Baisaran Valley, near Pahalgam, on Tuesday, which killed 26 people, most of whom were tourists. The attack has been blamed on Pakistan-backed terrorist groups, further straining the already volatile relations between the two countries. India has made it clear that those responsible for the attack will be brought to justice, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi vowing that the perpetrators would be pursued "to the ends of the earth."

The deadly assault, claimed by The Resistance Front (a proxy group with links to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba), marks a dramatic escalation in the ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan. This attack is part of a wider pattern of cross-border terrorism that India accuses Pakistan of harbouring and supporting.

Retaliatory measures intensify
In response to the Pahalgam attack, India has not only issued strong military statements but also taken diplomatic action. The government suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, a move that directly impacts water-sharing agreements between the two nations. Additionally, India closed the Integrated Check Post at the Wagah-Attari border and cancelled visas for Pakistani nationals. These steps are seen as part of a broader strategy to isolate Pakistan on the international stage.

Cross-border skirmishes and ceasefire violations
The situation escalated further when Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) on the nights of April 25 and 26. The Indian Army responded with small arms fire, marking the second consecutive day of cross-border exchanges. These skirmishes add another layer of tension, signalling that the situation on the border is becoming increasingly volatile.

A Powerful Signal from the Indian Military
Days after the Pahalgam attack, the Indian military issued a clear and powerful message. The Army released a chilling video with the tagline, "Always Prepared, Ever Vigilant," widely interpreted as a warning to those behind the attack. Another post included the phrase “No Mission Too Far,” underlining India's readiness to retaliate at any time and in any place.

Meanwhile, the Indian Navy’s post featured an image of warships in formation, accompanied by the phrase, "Mission Ready Anytime Anywhere Anyhow." These bold statements serve as a stark reminder that India’s military is prepared for any eventuality, sending a clear message to Pakistan and those supporting the attack.

The exchange of fire along the LoC, combined with the diplomatic actions taken by India, indicates that the situation is far from stable. As both sides continue to flex their military muscles, the risk of further escalation remains high. While India seeks justice for the victims of the Pahalgam attack, the military’s strong messages suggest a heightened state of alert and a commitment to protect national security.
