Anand Mahindra hails 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi's maiden IPL ton, calls him 'part of cricketing history'

Business leader Anand Mahindra praised young cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi after his record-breaking IPL century, calling him not just a part of IPL history but a part of cricketing history itself.

Vaibhav, who became the youngest player to score a century in IPL history at just 14 years and 32 days, has been making headlines with his performance for Rajasthan Royals. His 101-run knock off just 38 balls against Gujarat Titans has drawn admiration from across the cricketing and business world.

Reacting to Suryavanshi’s achievement, Anand Mahindra wrote, “Part of Cricketing history. Not just IPL history. I hope and pray he will have the ability to absorb this moment without being overwhelmed by it. And then, set his sights even higher.”

Vaibhav smashed 94 of his 101 runs through boundaries, hitting 11 sixes and seven fours, leading Rajasthan Royals to an eight-wicket victory at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. His 166-run stand with Yashasvi Jaiswal helped the team chase down a 210-run target with ease.

Suryavanshi’s century came at the age of just 14 years and 32 days, surpassing the records held by Manish Pandey (19y 253d), Rishabh Pant (20y 218d), and Devdutt Padikkal (20y 289d) for being the youngest centurions in IPL history.
