'Dhadak 2' X Movie Review : Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi The sequel to the 2018 romantic drama Dhadak finally made its theatrical debut on Friday, drawing significant attention from moviegoers and critics alike. Titled Dhadak 2, this latest film stars Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi in the lead roles and revisits similar thematic ground—young, passionate romance caught in the crossfire of caste hierarchy and systemic brutality. Directed and written by Shazia Iqbal, this poignant drama blends emotion and activism through a deeply personal lens.

Soon after its release, social media platforms buzzed with reactions. Viewers rushed to X (formerly Twitter) to share their impressions. One enthusiastic audience member praised both the film's fearless narrative and its compelling acting, stating that cinema tackling deep-rooted societal issues must exhibit courage in its storytelling and sincerity in its portrayals. According to the post, Dhadak 2 checks both boxes effortlessly—delivering powerful performances, stirring dialogues, and an emotional core filled with frustration, grief, and resistance.

"A film around social issues should have two qualities, i.e., bravery in storytelling & honesty in performances! #Dhadak2 has both brimming to the T. Everything lands! The performances, the dialogues, the emotional depth, the anger against retaliation & the messaging!” Read the comment.

Another user expressed how profoundly the film affected them, remarking that while some films speak to the heart, others engage the intellect—Dhadak 2 does both. The user emphasized that caste discrimination hasn’t vanished in modern cities; it has merely adapted, cloaking itself in polite pretenses. The film, they noted, exposes these facades with ruthless clarity.

About 'Dhadak 2'

Set in the socio-political framework of modern India, Dhadak 2 is a Hindi-language romantic drama released in 2025. It is presented by Dharma Productions, Zee Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures. A spiritual continuation of the first Dhadak and a remake of the acclaimed Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (2018), the film is Shazia Iqbal’s directorial venture that emphasizes truth, love, and protest.

The plot centers around Nilesh, a young man from a marginalised caste who aspires to become a lawyer. When he seeks admission to a prestigious law college, he is confronted with overt casteist abuse and dehumanizing experiences. Amid this turmoil, he falls in love with Nidhi Upadhyay, a girl from a privileged background. Together, they face a barrage of social and institutional opposition.

The film’s music is a collaborative effort, with compositions by Rochak Kohli, Tanishk Bagchi, Javed-Mohsin, Hesham Abdul Wahab, and Shreyas Puranik. Lyrics come from Rashmi Virag, Siddharth-Garima, Gurpreet Saini, and Ozil Dalal.

Dhadak 2 stands as a courageous cinematic work that combines raw emotional storytelling with piercing social critique.
