Did Pakistan just admit to 2019 Pulwama attack? PAF officer calls it 'tactical brilliance' amid Pahalgam heat

Amid the heat over the Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistan has commented on the Pulwama incident. During a press conference on Friday, Pakistan's Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed referred to the Pulwama attack as “tactical brilliance.”

The 2019 Pulwama terror attack killed 40 Indian paramilitary personnel when a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) suicide bomber targeted a CRPF convoy. Despite being linked to the attack, Pakistan had consistently denied any involvement.

However, on Friday, Aurangzeb, the spokesperson for the Pakistan Air Force, made the remark in front of several journalists, including foreign reporters.

“If Pakistan’s land, skies, or waters are threatened, there will be no compromise,” said Aurangzeb.

“We tried to convey this with our tactical brilliance in Pulwama, and now we’ve shown our strategic skills too.”

His statement also casts doubt on Pakistan’s denial of involvement in the April 22 Pahalgam attack.

He was joined by DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry and a Navy spokesperson. Lt Gen Chaudhry is the son of Sultan Bashiruddin Mahmood, a nuclear scientist linked to al-Qaida and listed as a terrorist by the UN.

Pakistan had always denied being involved in the Pulwama attack, which was carried out by Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). At the time, then-Prime Minister Imran Khan called it a “serious issue” but dismissed any army link.
