The stage is set for the first playoffs clash between Punjab Kings(PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) tonight at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh.

The journey for both the teams has been historic. PBKS won their last match against the Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets to enter the first qualifier while RCB won their last match against the Lucknow Super Giants by 6 wickets and will eye to seal their spot in the IPL finals.

According to IMD The weather in Mullanpur indicates a partly cloudy sky accompanied by one or two spells of rain or thundershowers in some areas. Temperatures are expected to peak at 46°C during the day before gradually declining to approximately 28°C by evening. Residents are advised to remain cautious of sudden weather changes due to possible localized showers.”

PBKS vs RCB: What happens if rain plays spoilsport?

There is no provision for a ‘reserve day’ for today’s clash. If it rains then the duration of the match would be reduced according to cut-off time provided by the rules. Minimum 5 overs have to be played by both sides and if that is not possible, then the team which has higher ranking on the points table advances to the final.
