Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A 17-year-old boy was arrested with his two friends for murdering his father whose body was found behind Kathonda waste plant under Madhotal police station on April 10.
The police identified body as that of 50-year-old Shyam Manohar Dahayat, a Kotwar (village guard) and resident of Kathonda, informed the police about the body found behind Kathonda waste plant.
According to the postmortem, the man was strangulated to death. The police began to probe the case on the basis of the postmortem report.
The police said the wife of the Kotwar, 45-year-old Gita Kori, identified the body of her husband, 51-year-old Surendra Lal Kori.
The police formed a team to probe the case. When the police team was sifting through CCTV footage, they came to know that on the night of April 9, four persons, riding a motorcycle, came from Green City and went to the waste plant through Mother Teresa Nagar. The bikers’ conduct was suspicious.
On the basis of CCTV footage and statements of some locals, the police took into custody a 19-year-old youth Uday Charar, an 18-year-old youth Sahil Raikwar, and 17-year-old son of the decease Sunderlal Kori.
The son of Kori said his father was in the habit of consuming liquor and beating up his mother. Fed up with his father’s conduct, he hatched a conspiracy to murder his father along with his friends.
After committing the crime, they took the body on a bike and threw it behind the waste plant.
