Human remains have been found near a Tesco supermarket, confirmed, as they reportedly raided an abandoned caravan.
Officers rushed to a wooded area in Bournemouth this morning after reports that human remains were discovered. A cordon has been put in place and an investigation is underway to identify the deceased person, Dorset Police said.
The police added that the person's death appears to be "non-recent" as a spokesperson said: " received a report at 8.41am on Saturday 26 April 2025 that human remains had been found in a wooded area off Riverside Avenue in Bournemouth. Officers are currently on scene and a cordon has been put in place.

"A full investigation is underway to establish the identity of the person and the full circumstances of the death, which appears to be non-recent." A local who regularly visits the supermarket near the cordoned-off area said he first saw the abandoned caravan there two or three weeks ago, reported the . But when he returned to the supermarket today, he saw police cars, two forensic vans and tape around the caravan.
It comes days after a body and human remains were found inside several bags near a children's school in Lewisham, South East London. The horrifying discovery was made by a community team who were working on cleaning up the area. Officers rushed to the scene on Church Grove, SE13, after reports human remains had been found in a garden two weeks ago.
According to reports, members of the local Church Grove project were building a play area when someone saw a human jaw fall out of a gravel bag. Police confirmed the remains were of "interest" and scoured the area for any other evidence of human body parts.
Local have been left terrified by the gruesome discovery with parents concerned about the safety of their children. A local told The Sun: "You see this stuff on the news, but it was right outside our front door.
"It's so much more immediate, you just never think something like this will happen so close to you. We are extremely shaken, I think the whole community is. Tiny kids were playing right next to literal bits of human arm."
