Shark vacuums have gained legions of fans for their effectiveness, especially when it comes to making light work of pet hair. And one particular cordless model has impressed Amazon shoppers who have said it is 'lightweight' with 'good suction'.
The Shark PowerPro Cordless Stick Vacuum Cleaner is now reduced on Amazon to £162.66, a 35% saving from its full price of £249.99. This vacuum has a multi-surface floorhead which can clean deep into carpets or keep hard floors dirt free with continuous cleaning contact. It's smart too, and has FloorDetect technology to sense the floor type, and will adjust the brush-roll speed to the surface.
According to Shark, it also has up to fifty minutes of removable battery runtime on a single charge (when in eco mode using the non-motorised tool), and it's also flexible as the cleaning wand bends to clean under furniture, or when not being used, it handily folds away so it's compact to store.

Additionally, it can be turned into a handheld vacuum too, and has attachable accessories for use in this mode, so it can zoom over countertops, or get stuck into more hard to clean places if needed. Shark says another feature is that it has an anti-allergen seal, which "captures and traps 99.9% of dust and allergens inside the vacuum".
For cleaning it, it has an XL dust cup capacity, which is easy to empty and thanks to CleanTouch technology means hands don't get near the dirt either.
There are other options for home owners to consider though, like the Bush Cordless Vacuum Cleaner from Argos which is £120. This has a 450w motor is described as being high powered with a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter to suck up everything from dust to pet hair. On full charge it can run for up to an hour too, Argos says, and is easily emptied with one button.
For a bit of colour added to the cleaning arsenal, Henry has the Henry Quick for £299.99. It's on the pricier side, but promises dust-free emptying, and comes with cleaning pods which are made from recycled material. At 3.2 kilograms it's also light to carry around and can be shortened into a handheld too.

Amazon shoppers have rated the Shark with a 4.5 average star rating out of just over 6,000 reviews. One shopper loved the fold-down feature, writing: "I already own a similar Shark vacuum myself and didn’t hesitate to get this one for a family member. It’s super easy to use, lightweight, and the cordless design makes life so much simpler, no tangling or tripping over cords. The fold-down feature is brilliant for saving space, and the charge lasts long enough for a number of good clean (obviously depends how big your place is and how many rooms)."
Another customer said: "By far, the best vacuum I have ever owned. It's nice and compact when packed down, and the light to reveal what is in front of it is superb. Suction is good, the different attachments are great, the versatility of the carpet & normal floor modes make it perfect for picking up dust in every room. No complaints, I love this vacuum."
One shopper compared it to Dyson and their opinion was: "I bought this to replace my Dyson vacuum cleaner. This was much cheaper and performs as well as if not better than the cordless Dysons I owned before. This is easier to manoeuvre, the battery lasts longer and easier to dispose of the dirt. I have now had it for nearly 2 years. I can honestly say I am very pleased with it."
Amid the positives one shopper had a suggestion for a bracket, adding: "Best cordless vacuum ever battery lasts to get the full house done! Highly recommend had a fair few other makes over the years and this is the best one to day. No pet hairs get stuck around the rotation barrel as its not continuous bristles! Suction is amazing even without the turbo mode this helps getting longer out the battery. Love how it not only folds to clean under the couch and units but folds in half for easy upright storage instead of having to lie it down. Only downfall it doesn’t come with a mounting bracket but that's not essential with how it folds for storage."
And another customer felt it was too heavy for them, explaining: "Battery is long lasting, fast charging and the suction is surprisingly good. The pet tool is amazing for mattresses and couches. I have two dogs and they shed constantly and this picks it up no problem. The anti hair wrap actually works too. The only qualm I have would be that its surprisingly heavy for the size of it. But worth money."
