Love Island star Dejon Noel-Williams has hit back after viewers slammed his behaviour in the villa this year. The 26-year-old OG was paired with Meg Moore from the very start of the show and the duo left as boyfriend and girlfriend, declaring their love for each other.
Despite claiming they had "won" the show as they left in a relationship, Dejon's actions in the Mallorcan sunshine left little to be desired for some viewers. And the personal trainer was even branded a "narcissist" by some.
However, he says that couldn't be further from the truth and insists he is an "empathetic person". It comes as he vowed "to prove everyone wrong" in his exit chat with Maya Jama.

He was voted out alongside Meg, 25, after past co-stars of the pair voted to dump them just days before Monday night's final in yet another dramatic twist. And now, in an interview as the dust settles on screen, Dejon claims he has received vile messages online that led to him turning off the comments on his social media accounts.
While in the villa, Dejon explored a number of options while staying coupled up with Mag, before also accusing his partner of attempting to make him 'look bad' in front of the cameras on one occasion. It led to the public questioning his true intentions.
However, speaking to Mail Online, he continued to insist he and Meg are the real deal and said: "I do take full accountability for how I communicated at times in the villa. The girls who were on the show with me say I'm not a narcissist, I'm not a gaslighter, all of these things they have seen online, it means a lot to me because they spent 24 hours a day with me."
He added he understands he could have dealt with certain situations better, but insists being branded a "narcissist" is wide of the mark. "Empathy is definitely something that I have, it's something I had for Meg, for Harry, and when Meg was upset, I was there for her, and when Harry was upset it would break my heart."
Dejon claimed he felt lost in the villa at times during his 10-week stint. Admitting he felt "very confused," he said he was ready to leave the show a number of times.
He explained this was especially the case when he realised he would be in a relationship with Meg outside of the villa.
However, the fitness fanatic also opened up on the vile abuse he faced since exiting the villa, saying his phone has been "flooded with backlash and hateful messages".
"It got so bad that me and Meg have both decided to turn the comments off, the messages we have both received are no good for our mental health," he added.
Dejon revealed showing his emotions is tough for him, so admits fans of the show may not have seen them at times. Rather than release emotion in public, he claims he likes to "cry alone in my room" but that wasn't possible in the villa. However, he thanked close pals Harry and Helena, as well as Meg for supporting him in throughout the journey.
