Blue passport
The most commonly used passport in India is the blue passport. It is called a normal passport. This passport is used for purposes like studying abroad, job, business or travelling. White passport
White passport is given only to government officials, employees and army personnel when they go abroad on 'official work'. This passport shows that they are on official work. Sometimes they can also get special facilities at immigration. This passport is also issued in emergency cases. White passports also now have 'RFID chip' installed in them, so that it can be kept safe and there is no tampering in it.
Red Passport
The red or maroon coloured passport is for diplomats, senior government officials and their families. This passport is especially given to those diplomats who work in Indian embassies or consulates abroad. With this passport, they get visa quickly in many countries or are allowed to go to many places without visa. Now this passport is also given in the form of e-passport, which has a chip, so that it is more secure and easily valid around the world.
Orange passport
Orange passports are issued to citizens who fall under the 'ECR' (Emigration Check Required) category. These are usually people who have not completed their studies or who are going to certain countries for work. This passport means that such passengers will have to undergo special immigration checks before going abroad.
