Argos shoppers have praised a compact but "sturdy" fire pit that's great for the autumn months. Although the seasons are changing, there is still time to enjoy time outdoors, and a fire pit is a great way of extending those garden get-togethers into the evening. Habitat's rounded fire pit is currently reduced to £60 (it was £75), and some shoppers have said it's even helped them enjoy outdoor gatherings as late as November.
One shopper left a review saying: "Value for money and good quality. Worked a treat! Tested it out on bonfire night."
It's made from 100% steel, and its boxy base design means its weight is spread evenly out and not on any type of legs.
It's fairly compact and weighs just 3.5kg, making it light enough to move around when needed. It also comes with the ash grate and a poker for safely tending to the flames. The logs are placed on top of the ash grate, and there's also room to store extra logs underneath.
The fire pit doesn't arrive assembled. Habitat states that only one person is required, so it's likely to be a fairly easy job. One user said: "Easy to assemble. Very sturdy. Hope to get lots of use in the autumn evenings."
Based on customer satisfaction reviews, the product has been rated 4.7 stars out of a possible five. One review said: "Absolutely amazing. It's so easy to store when not in use. It's a really nice addition to the garden." At the moment, the fire pit only has positive reviews, and no one has mentioned anything negative. However, given its size, it might not be suitable for people who are after a large fire pit.
If you're after something that can also be used as a barbecue, Argos also has a steel fire pit, priced at £40 (reduced from £50), that can double up as a grill.
Shoppers have praised it as being "excellent value" for money. Its steel pit is 57cm in diameter and weighs 5kg. It comes with a grill to convert it into a cooking space, a poker for safely stoking the flames, and a fireguard. The pit works with wood or some alternative fuels, such as coconut shell briquettes. Note, however, that it's not suitable for charcoal.
Hoole also has a cast-iron bowl fire pit from Gardenesque priced at £71 (down from £95). It stands on four legs and has a very generous 75cm diameter, and weighs 15kg. It's also available in a larger 100cm diameter, which is priced at £146 (down from £195).
