Corrie's Lisa George shows off incredible weight loss with 'proud' statement

Former Beth Tinker actress, Linda George, was supported as she shared that she is "proud of how far she has come". The ex-Coronation Street star said goodbye to the fictional town of after 13 years back in August, and since then she has undergone a major transformation.

The 52-year-old shared a snap to her Instagram account, showing her seemingly in a restaurant, wearing a light pink top with her hair in a sleek long bob with glasses propped on her head. She smiled into the camera as she captioned the social media post: " Feeling proud of how far I've come [love heart emoji]." The added the hashtags: "#feelingproud #newbeginnings #holidaytime #letsdothis."

Former co-star Katie McGlynn was quick to respond as she wrote: "Witwoo," with a love heart eyes emoji while actress Sally Carman-Duttine, who plays Abi Webster in the ITV soap, gushed: "You look great Lisa." Debbie Webster actress Sue Devaney cheered her friend and co-star on, saying: "I'm proud of YOU!!!"

Back in May of last year, Lisa commented on her incredible transformation as she admitted that she had made some changes to her lifestyle and diet to lose weight.

At the time, she told the Daily Mail: "I've been through the menopause, am using a sensor so I can check my sugar levels and keep my Diabetes under control and I've had a complete overhaul of my diet.

"I've always eaten really healthily but with everything going on with my eyes and my Diabetes I went to see a nutritionist. I cut out so much from my diet and am a stone lighter than I was last year.

"I'm loving the weight I'm at now. I went out on Friday and wore a velvet suit that was a size 10. I have not been in a size 10 since I was 28!"

Taking to social media at the time of her exit from , Lisa said: "Never did I think all those years ago that two episodes would turn into over a decade of my life on screen, but in the blink of an eye it's passed like no time at all... I feel honoured to have been part of such an institution for so long... the world's first and longest running soap! What a ride it's been."
