A British woman has shown how she gets free coffee every single day, and the method is super simple. Not only this, but it would also be available to anyone who lives close to or passes by a Waitrose store anywhere in the country. That is because Waitrose gives out free coffee every day, something that many Brits don't know about. The supermarket offers free coffees from its self-service coffee machines to customers who have a myWaitrose card.
Although it might seem like a ploy to get customers to buy more, there is actually no catch. Instead, you can simply claim your free coffee without buying anything at all from your local Waitrose store. One TikToker explained how she gets her free coffee every single day from Waitrose, showing off how she simply brings her loyalty card and her reusable coffee cup to the supermarket to claim it. In the clip, which was shared by TikTok user The Sustainable Spender, we see her enter the shop with her cup, go to the coffee machine, scan her card and claim her free drink.
Those with a myWaitrose card can claim one free hot drink per day, which can be tea or coffee. You can use a physical myWaitrose card or a digital one that you can download through the supermarket's smartphone app.
"You could legitimately get your morning coffee FOR FREE every day of the year if you wanted to," she says. "All you need is a reusable cup (love this) and a card - either physical or digital - to scan at the machine."
Waitrose first introduced this offer in 2013, but a few years later, it was offered only to customers who had made a purchase in Waitrose. At the beginning of this year, they reintroduced free coffee for anyone, regardless of whether they buy something from the shop.
A spokesperson said at the time: "Some of our members like to have their free coffee before or during their shop, rather than afterwards, so we are just offering a bit of flexibility in response to customer feedback."
It's important to note the need to bring your own cup, as Waitrose has said it will only supply takeaway cups in some stores. Additionally, there can be a charge for these. So, you need to have your own cup to get it completely for free.
The freebie is only available from Waitrose-branded self-service coffee machines, and free coffees are not offered at any of Waitrose's cafes.
