ITV Celebrity Big Brother viewers say same thing minutes into show

The wait is finally over as the new series of kicked off on Monday night.

The show will see a string of well-known faces live together for the next few weeks as they take part in challenges and nominations and face live evictions.

As the launch night began, it wasn't long before people watching at home took to social media to complain about one thing in particular as The One And Only hitmaker Chesney Hawkes was the first to enter the house.

Big Brother set the nineties pop star a mission just minutes after he entered the property. He was forced to introduce himself as "the one and only Chesney Hawkes" and the challenge has already rubbed people up the wrong way.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan moaned: "Drink every time they play that abysmal song ."

A second disgruntled fan said: "I'm already sick of that goddamn song." Another said: "We're gonna hear that song 100 times this series." With someone else tweeting: "We're so gonna hear this song 500 times this series."

However, there were some people who weren't sure who the music star was as one viewer asked: "Who is Chesney Hawkes?" Another added: "WHO THE HELL IS CHESNEY HAWKS"

Someone else wrote: "1st celebrity announced is Chesney Hawkes! Don't know who he is but ok "

Altrhough some people were thrilled to see the singer in the house as one person said: "I still love Chesney Hawkes." With another commenting: "YES THE ONE AND ONLY CHESNEY HAWKES!!!

When asked what he's looking forward to the most about being in the CBB house, he said: "I'm 53 and I've spent 53 years with myself, so I think I know myself pretty well.

"But I reckon I'm going to learn stuff about myself. If you can reach your mid 50s and there's potential to do that, then that's really exciting.

"And I think I'll learn some stuff about other celebrities that I didn't know as well - so that's interesting. Oh and Tuesday night is the night we put the bins out so I'm looking forward to not doing that."

Last year, fans saw reality star David Potts win the competition, with finishing in second place. Ahead of the new series, Nikita shared some advice for the new housemates.

While appearing on Lorraine, he said: "I think, at the end of the day just be a good person, number one. If you're not, listen if you're going to get yourself cancelled because you're not a good person, then it's fair enough!

"But, at the end of the day, if you treat everybody nicely, everything should be fine and just enjoy the time."
