Since Liam Neeson declared his 'particular set of skills' in the blockbuster film Taken, the Irish actor has been a force to be reckoned with in the action and thriller genre.
His 2020 film, Honest Thief, which is set to air on Channel 4 tonight (Sat) at 9:20pm, is no different. In this gripping role, Neeson portrays former bank robber Tom Dolan who opts to surrender himself to the FBI and relinquish his ill-gotten wealth in hopes of a lighter sentence, only to be betrayed by two corrupt FBI agents.
Despite being one of his lesser-known films, fans have hailed it as 'underrated' and 'awesome', praising Neeson for doing what he does best - 'kicking ass'. One Rotten Tomatoes reviewer said: "Very entertaining, well written and lots of stars doing a fantastic job. Lots of action with a little bit of humour, just at the right time."
Another fan wrote: "This is a very good movie... The characters are interesting and Liam does a great job making us believe a 67-year-old guy can move like he's 30 years younger. All-in-all, a fun movie."
A third added: "A solid heist with a touch of heart. Honest Thief offers a refreshing twist on the classic heist film.", reports the Mirror.
Neeson has carved a niche for himself as the go-to action/thriller lead in the latter part of his career, with hard-hitting films like Taken, Taken 2, Taken 3, Run All Night, The Grey, Unknown and Cold Pursuit among others.
However, veering away from his usual genre, Neeson's latest film saw him delve into comedy/action when he starred in this year's The Naked Gun alongside Pamela Anderson, sparking rumours of a romance between the two post-filming.
Honest Thief will be broadcast on Channel 4 at 9:20pm tonight (Sat).
