Liverpool's pre-match press conference before their match against Eintracht Frankfurt has been cancelled due to trouble with the squad's flight. The Reds will be looking to bounce back from four straight defeats when they eventually land in Germany for their Champions League clash on Wednesday evening.
Arne Slot's side have lost to Crystal Palace, Galatasaray and Chelsea before Sunday's 2-1 loss at home to Manchester United. Liverpool's record in Europe so far this season reads won one and lost one after beating Atletico Madrid in their opening fixture before losing to Galatasaray in Turkey.
Reds boss Slot was set to address the media on Wednesday evening before their clash against Bundesliga team Frankfurt. However, a club statement has now confirmed this will not take place following issues with their plane.
"Our pre-match press conference for the clash with Eintracht Frankfurt has been cancelled," they said on X (Twitter).
"A delay in the squad's scheduled flight out to Frankfurt, due to technical issues with the aircraft, means the briefing will now not be able to take place."
Liverpool are still fully expected to eventually arrive in Germany so the game will still take place on Wednesday, with kick off set for 8pm UK time.
Unless there have been more developments since the loss to United, the only new injury concern facing Liverpool is midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.
When asked after Sunday's game about the injury, Slot said: "I took Ryan off because he twisted his ankle. So yes, he is an injury concern. We have to wait and see tomorrow.
"We have to play in a couple of days again, we have to play three games in seven days again like we had to do after the last international break, so there's not a lot of time to recover. The good thing is we have more than one good midfielder."
There was at least better news for Liverpool elsewhere as midfielder Wataru Endo returned to training. The Japan international missed the defeat to United with a hamstring injury, having also sat out international duty after suffering the issue against Chelsea.
Alexis Mac Allister also took part in training despite receiving four stitches to a head injury in the defeat to United. The pair and Curtis Jones are all options to replace Gravenberch as Liverpool's holding midfielder in Germany.
The Reds will then turn their attention to Saturday's game at Brentford as they look to end a three-match losing streak in the Premier League.
