With the long winter finally behind us and spring ushering in brighter days and - fingers crossed - improved weather, there's no better way to celebrate than with a coastal getaway. While it may still be too chilly for a swim or sunbathing session, a brisk visit on a crisp spring day can certainly invigourate the senses.
North Wales, renowned for its stunning coastline, boasts everything from bustling seaside like Llandudno to the secluded sandy coves of Anglesey. Along this spectacular stretch, you'll find an array of beautiful beaches offering breathtaking vistas. Among these is Conwy Morfa Beach, conveniently located just a short distance from the iconic itself.
Situated on the southern side of the River Conwy estuary, Conwy Morfa Beach presents a vast expanse of golden sand, bordered by shingle and grassy dunes.
At low tide, it merges with adjacent beaches to form the expansive Colwyn Bay - though caution is advised due to the swift tides that could potentially leave you stranded, reports .
What sets this beach apart is its lack of typical seaside attractions, donkey rides, and throngs of tourists. Instead, it retains a more natural and untamed charm, making it a favourite spot for tranquil seaside strolls.
The awe-inspiring views across Conwy Bay shoreline and towards the Great Orme only add to its appeal.
Dogs are heartily welcomed on the beach throughout the year, so there's no need to leave your furry companion behind.
A Tripadvisor user, GlappyCass, praised the beach's dog-friendly nature, saying: "Truly dog friendly beach that seems to go on forever, my dog spent quite some time off lead running in the wet sand and edge of the sea.
"If you aren't a dog owner or lover don't be put off, there's so much beach there's room for everyone and it is so clean."
Another visitor, DonDons 369, said: "Great place to take the dog for a lovely long walk and run."
Even if you're not a dog lover it's an idyllic spot for anyone looking to enjoy a seaside stroll.
One visitor described it as a "hidden gem" and praised for its stunning beauty while said it has "absolutely beautiful beach surrounded by mountains."
Conwy Morfa Beach is equally renowned for its sea glass. with many visitors stumbling upon these polished, jewel-like fragments along the shore.
For those planning a visit, there's free parking available on Beach Road, LL32 8GA, but be mindful that it tends to fill up quickly on weekends and during holiday periods.
