So, they were right all along. The mums, dads, grandparents and locals who took to the streets to protest about a migrant sex pest who had been placed in a hotel in their midst as part of the appallingly mismanaged asylum-seeking shambles that is plaguing too many areas across the country, were spot-on. Dismissed as racists by senior Labour politicians and deluded left wing commentators who will go to extraordinary lengths to cover up painful truths, the people of Epping in Essex and the surrounding area were totally justified in voicing their concerns.
But while supporting their efforts, let's make it plain that the actions of the ugly rent-a-mob crowd of assorted and largely masked professional rabble rousers and anarchists that pitched up on the scene outside the now infamous Bell Hotel are to be roundly decried. Craven politicians latched on to that unsupportable group's vile sentiments seeing it as a perfect cover to attack a valid - and ultimately vindicated - outpouring of local fury.
Ethiopian Hadush Kebatu, 41, was jailed for 12-months at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court last week after being found guilty of a string of sexual offences.
You're probably thinking 12-months seems a pitifully low sentence for his actions including stroking a 14-year-old girl's thigh and trying to kiss an adult woman who came to her aid - but that was what the legal tariff allowed for.
In court his counsel revealed "his firm wish is to be deported as soon as possible," which is hardly surprising as it has been indicated he will walk free upon arrival.
However, whether deported or not ask yourself how come we live under a judicial system that sends a woman to jail for 31 months for posting entirely unjustifiable and vile comments on social media, while a convicted sex offender gets just 12-months.
Perversely, this case could be seen to have done a great service to the debate about our failed asylum process, as it has rightly brought into focus much of its unchecked lunacy.
On the very day convicted sex offender Kabatu was imprisoned, it was revealed migrants booked in asylum hotels are being sent hundreds of miles in taxis for medical appointments, with an example being a failed asylum seeker having a £600 fare for a 250-mile road trip for a knee appointment being picked up by the taxpayer.
In another case an Iraqi with the pseudonym Kadir said he'd requested he make his journey by train as it was cheaper, but had his request rejected.
"They know they spend too much money. We know as well but we don't have any choice. It's crazy," he told the BBC documentary.
And, of course, he is right. It was also revealed last week that an all-time high record of 111,084 asylum applications were received in the year up to June of this year, which represents a 14% lift.
As this is being written, the numbers concerning the much-vaunted "one in one out" system add to this border farce, with the total number of people being deported being just six - while three have been permitted legal entry.
This government seems to have achieved what seemed unachievable - and you can now add financial ignorance to criminal (remembering the Ethiopian sex offender) incompetence.
