Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's upbringing savaged as 'disappointing' for one reason

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's Californian upbringing was branded "disappointing" by a royal expert. The children of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex live in their parents' lavish mansion in Montecito, California.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle quit their royal duties and moved to America in 2020, when Archie was just one and Lilibet was not even born. The Sussex family returned to the UK in the summer of 2022 to celebrate the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee, but they have not returned to Harry's home country since.

A royal expert weighed in on the children's American upbringing and criticised it, saying it has no connection to their royal bloodline.

Author Hugo Vickers previously told the Sun: "There's going to come a point when they realise that they are actually cousins to the British Royal Family, and that they could have taken part in all the sort of things that Prince William's children take part in.

"And you know they don't, even, as far as I can see, know, their cousins at all, and that surely must be quite tricky and disappointing really, for them."

Meanwhile, last week, Harry made a major U-turn regarding bringing his children back to the UK.

The Duke of Sussex has previously stated that he fears for his children's safety when in the UK following his legal battle against the Home Office regarding his downgraded security in the country after his royal exit.

But in a new interview following his four-day visit to the UK, the Duke revealed that Archie and Lilibet's return to the UK could be closer than we think.

The Guardian asked whether he would bring his children back to the UK.

He said: "I would. This week has definitely brought that closer."

It follows a week of attending various engagements in England linked to the Duke's charities and patronages, as well as a meeting with King Charles at Clarence House.
