The UK is home to tens of thousands of bridges that come in all shapes and sizes, and carry out different functions. However, when it comes to the tallest bridge in nation there is one clear answer.
Queensferry Crossing, an incredible three-tower cable-stayed bridge, stretches 2,700 metres and is a huge 207 metres tall. The £1.35 billion bridge was constructed between 2011 and 2017 and carries the M90 motorway between Edinburgh at South Queensferry and Fife, at North Queensferry, a beautiful little village, nine miles from Edinburgh's city centre.
The historic coastal village is home to just over 1,000 people, yet is a vibrant community that is loved by tourists. It boast 43 listed buildings by Historic Scotlands, and numerous attractions.
One of North Queensferry's most popular attractions is its Deep Sea World aquarium, which dates back to 1993. The fascinating spot holds an amazing 112 metre long transparent acrylic underviewing tunnel, which is the longest of its kind in the world.
While it is notable for being a nice escape for visitors, another thing that makes the village stand out is the all the history that has been cherished throughout its architetcure.
The charming village has buildings that date back to the early 14th century. The Chapel of St James sit in the heart of the village. While very little of the chapel remains, it holds sentimental value to the village as a symbol of North Queensferry's heritage.

North Queensferry and its surrounding area also have an abundance of wildlife. Located on the northern shore of the Firth of Forth, visitors can explore the beautiful marine life that it is home to, including gannets and puffins.
Animal lovers can even spend the day spotting seals. The village is the perfect location for observing both marine mammals and numerous seabirds.
The list of things to do across the small village is endless, but one thing that cannot be missed, of course, is taking advantage of the incredible views of the ground-breaking Forth Bridge, which is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
One person, on TripAdvisor, wrote: "We made a quick stop to view this historic bridge! It only take 10-15 minutes extra. Well worth it as it rivals the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco! This bridge is older and almost as long as the Golden Gate which makes it an even more remarkable engineering accomplishment!"
While another said: "Awesome bridge, travelled across on the train when it was heavy snow! A sight never to forget!
Visited the fantastic aquarium below by the bridge, getting off the nearby station on the bridge. Totally recommended!"
