New Delhi: Delhi Police has cracked the connected murders of two brothers-in-law in northeast Delhi's Khajuri Khas and Dayalpur , arresting four men allegedly involved in the killings.
The investigation began on Aug 11, when police received information about a man's body found in C-Block, Khajuri Khas. The deceased was identified as Raji Ahmed, 33, a resident of Harkesh Market. A case under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) was registered, and a probe was initiated by teams from the Khajuri Khas police station.
A day later, on Aug 12, police recovered a decomposed body from a locked kitchen on the first floor of a house in New Chauhanpur, Dayalpur. The deceased was identified as Shami Alam, a resident of Loni, Uttar Pradesh. A second murder case under Section 103 of the BNS was registered at Dayalpur police station. Forensic teams examined both crime scenes and collected key evidence.
As investigations progressed, police discovered that the two victims were related—brothers-in-law—and that the suspects in both murders were connected. Through technical surveillance, CCTV footage, and local intelligence, police zeroed in on four suspects.
According to investigators, two of the accused—Vickey Tomar (24) and Ashfaq (19)—confessed to killing Shami Alam under the influence of alcohol during a party at the Dayalpur house, which had been rented by Raji Ahmed. Police said, Raji left the party early after allegedly asking the accused to recover the money he had loaned to Shami.
"During the recovery process, an argument reportedly broke out, and Vickey, Ashfaq, and others allegedly assaulted Shami, killing him on the spot. They then locked his body in the kitchen and fled," a senior police officer said. "Fearing that Raji would reveal the crime, the group decided to eliminate him as well," the officer added.
The remaining two accused—Faizaan alias Khali (22) and Mohammad Masoom alias Chotu (25)—allegedly lured Raji out and murdered him in Khajuri Khas.
All four accused have been arrested. Further investigation is ongoing.
