Recently, Illicit Affairs, a dating website for married people seeking an affair, conducted a poll for the sexiest man alive in the UK. The results showed that the British women think of English broadcaster Piers Morgan as the one.
However, in achieving the title, the 60-year-old media personality beat last year's winner, former Top Gear Presenter and Clarkson's Farm star Jeremy Clarkson . Talking about the same to The Sun , Morgan said, “This just proves that British women are the smartest and most discerning in the world, and the most likely to appreciate genuinely magnetic sex appeal.”
Other contenders in the list included British-Irish broadcaster Dermot O’Leary, English actor and presenter Danny Dyer, English television presenter Tim Lovejoy , English broadcaster Jonathan Ross , English television presenter Ben Shephard, British actor and comedian Romesh Ranganathan and English comedian and author Bob Mortimer.
Social media reactions
People on the internet were taken aback by the poll's results. "No way, I guess the British ladies are that weird", wrote one X user. "I didn't know the standard for women was so low here in the UK", added another.
Many asked who voted for Morgan and where the voting took place, taking offence at the results. "Did this vote take place in Henshaws Blind Asylum 👍?" and "Who the hell is voting for these guys?"
Not only social media users, Jessica Leoni, the poll's spokesperson, also admitted that she and her team were "taken aback" when Piers won the poll. “His unapologetic style clearly taps into something deeper for a lot of women — confidence, conviction, and not being afraid to ruffle feathers,” she told The Sun.

One can imagine the standard if the choice is between Piers and Jeremy.

Well, I now understand why the UK birthrate has tanked. I remember when the standard was a little higher and younger. pic.twitter.com/kXYI4wOhfA
