Redmi A5 smartphone is now official. Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has expanded its entry-level smartphone lineup with the launch of Redmi A5 in India. The smartphone packs HD+ display and is powered by a Unison chipset. It runs Android 15 operating system and is backed by a 5,200 mAh battery .

Redmi A5: Price and availabilityRedmi A5 comes in two variants — 3GB+64GB and 4GB+128GB priced at Rs 6,499 and Rs 7,499 respectively. The smartphone is available online on Flipkart, Mi.com and offline on authorised retail schools in the country. The smartphone can be purchased in Pondicherry Blue and Just Black and Lake Green colour options.


Redmi A5: SpecificationsRedmi A5 features a 6.88-inch HD+ display with 720x1680 pixel resolution and offers up to 120Hz refresh rate. The display also comes with TÜV Rheinland-certified eye protection.

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Unisoc T7250 chipset paired with up to 4GB RAM. It comes in two storage options — 64GB and 128GB. Users can further expand the storage by adding a microSD card of up to 2TB.

The affordable Redmi smartphone runs Android 15 operating system. The company has also confirmed that the smartphone will get 2 years of Android OS update and 4 years of security patch updates. The smartphone comes with 32MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and secondary camera. The smartphone packs an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Redmi A5 is backed by a 5,200 mAh battery which comes with 15W charging support. The smartphone comes equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
