Parents and chocolate lovers, it's time to raid your pantry. The probability of finding an unusual crunch in your chocolate bars is high. Some chocolate bars are being recalled across the US after reports of small stones found in the products. The company that manufactures the candy has announced a voluntary recall. Here’s everything you need to know about the recall.
What is the recalled product?
Tony’s Chocolonely Inc., a New York-based company, has voluntarily recalled seven lots of its Tony’s brands Dark Almond Sea Salt Bar and Everything Bar.
Why are the chocolate bars recalled?
The recall was initiated Tuesday after 12 consumers reported finding small stones in the chocolate, which according to the company is due to an issue during third-party almond harvesting and processing. "Whilst the chance of any individual product being affected is low, and we have not yet received any complaints in North America, we have decided to take this step in order to ensure the safety and satisfaction of Tony’s Chocolonely consumers in an abundance of caution," the company wrote in the recall. All complaints occurred outside of the United States and Canada, and no injuries were reported.
However, the products were distributed nationwide and sold in the United States via retail stores and their website (www.tonyschocolonely.com). The distribution of the products began Feb. 7, 2025, and ended Mar. 24, 2025.
Product details of the recalled chocolate bars:
